    x-[x] is a periodic function and its graph is a repetition of triangles (like sawtooth wave) between integers and area of one such trianlge is 1/2 sq. units. So when you integrate this between 0 to 2, you get ans. as 1/2+1/2=1
    Multiply by k so the ans is k.1 = k
    which should be equal to 1 for given function to be a valid PDF
